Every weekend, hundreds of thousands of us head to football grounds to watch the Premier League’s finest players in action. But do you know what the rules are about what you can and can’t do inside the ground? Most importantly; do you know whether they allow vaping at a Premier League ground? The answer is a simple ‘no’.

Vaping is forbidden inside all Premier League grounds, and the rules are also clear about whether or not you can leave the ground to vape and then re-enter. Unfortunately, you’re not allowed to do that either, so vaping at a Premier League game isn’t an option from when you arrive until when you leave after the final whistle. Or ten minutes before the final whistle, if your team is having one of those days…

If you’re tempted into chancing using your devices at a Premier League ground, you need to be aware of the punishments that you would be risking if you got caught. Amongst the clubs who will eject you from the ground if you are caught breaking their rules are Manchester United, Manchester City and Leicester City, while Everton say they reserve the right to take away your season ticket.

West Bromwich Albion call the use of vape pens in the ground “a serious breach of the Terms and Conditions of entry” into the ground, while Southampton say that the use of vape devices “would give the wrong impression” in light of the smoking ban. Of course, the varying severity of the potential punishment doesn’t change the fact that you cannot vape in any Premier League ground.

But is this really a problem? After all, you can use your vape pen outside the ground before and after the game, and there’s plenty of options for eating, drinking and socialising before you enter the ground itself where you can vape without any problems. Plus, while 90 minutes can feel like a long time if your team are losing 5-0, it’s not a very long period of time to wait, especially when compared to a 3-hour blockbuster movie at the cinema.

So while you can’t vape inside a Premier League ground, and could face severe punishments if you tried, there’s no reason why it should spoil your day out. We can’t promise the same for the referees, sadly.
