MPs have been given the go ahead to use their electronic cigarettes indoors at Westminster – hooray!
The guidelines state that use of e-cigarettes will be allowed in three areas of the Parliamentary Estate. Members will be allowed to vape in their own offices, part of the Portcullis House building and the Stranger’s Bar – the MP’s main watering hole.
With those leading the country setting a precedent on indoor vaping, could this lead the way to more e-cig friendly workplaces and potential reversals of current office bans?
For now we’ll have to be contented with raising a glass, along with all the vapers inside Stranger’s Bar, who now can know the joy of an e-cig in one hand and pint in the other at the end of a hard day at the office.
