The World’s Most Unique Hotels

We know that blu users like to follow their own path, and are all about embracing their independent spirit in every aspect of life. One of the areas where it isn’t always easy to avoid the poison of mediocrity is when it comes to staying in hotels. They tend to be a bit boring don’t they? The same standardized décor, a bed, a desk, a small TV – it’s not exactly the most inspiring stuff for a traveler.

Well we have done a bit of investigating, and it doesn’t have to be this way. If you look hard enough, there are some hotels out there which capture the same kind of unique spirit which makes blu users tick. Check out these impressive and unique hotels from around the world – get booking your next trip now!

No Man’s Fort – Portsmouth, England

This stunning man-made island was originally built in 1880 in a bid to protect Portsmouth from potential attack by Napoleon III. After extensive renovation it has now been converted to a luxury hotel with 22 bedrooms, a penthouse suite, nightclub, hot tub and even a laser quest arena! Located just a mile from Portsmouth and Isle of Wight, this is a perfect place to visit as part of a longer trip around this beautiful coastal area of England.

Hotel Marqués De Riscal – Elciego, Spain

The Marqués de Riscal in Elciego is the brainchild of renowned architect Frank Gehry, and it is his only ever hotel project. Gehry is best known for designing the Guggenheim in Bilbao, and this structure exhibits similar style. The large titanium ribbons stand out from the surrounding landscape which is at the center of the Rioja wine region. This provides a perfect location for those who want to combine stunning natural surroundings (and plenty of wine!) with impressive avant-garde accommodation.

The Manta Resort – Pemba Island, Tanzania

If you like the sea, The Manta Resort in Tanzania could be the perfect location for you, thanks to its very own Underwater Room – not something you see every day! Suspended mid-water, just off the coast of Pemba Island, this three-floor structure has a master bedroom which sits below sea level. While in this master bedroom underneath the waves, you can enjoy the views of the local sea life through the large windows -this is a once in a lifetime stay!

Amangiri – Canyon Point, Utah, USA

Amangiri is one of the most stunning hotels in America, and it blends perfectly with its striking surroundings at the heart of Canyon Point in Utah. It is a little on the pricey side, but we guarantee that you will get more than your money’s worth thanks to the top-class facilities.

It is in a perfect location for hiking through the mountains, where there are stunning sights of the desert landscape. After this exploration you will be keen to relax, and the spa at Amangiri offers the perfect way to do so, with five treatment rooms, swimming pool, steam room, dry sauna, fitness center, salon, floatation room, and more.

Costa Verde – Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica

Costa Verde is a unique proposition to say the least, this hotel is a salvaged and refurbished Boeing 727 from 1965. Inside it has been converted to a charming two bedroom apartment. Perhaps the most incredible thing about the 727 fuselage is its positioning – set out on a concrete plinth which sticks out almost 50 feet into the jungle. This gives stunning views of the treetops, and a chance to observe your neighbors including sloths, toucans, and monkeys.
