With summer on the horizon, vapers are looking ahead to the upcoming months and wondering what the rules around using their e-cigarettes at festivals are. This question only gets more difficult to answer as new legislation is introduced and individual events enforce their own regulations on the governance of e-cigarette usage at their venues.
One of the biggest events of the summer is the Coachella Festival. Founded in 1999, it’s grown from a two-day gathering into a massive cultural phenomenon that spans two three-day weekends in April. And gladly, you can vape there, but only under certain circumstances. So what are those circumstances?
According to the FAQ section of the official Coachella website, “single use mini’s (aka Cig-a-likes)” are permitted, as are “mid-sized e-cigs and vape pens”. However, “no liquid refills will be allowed into the venue” and nor are APV’s (Advanced Personal Vaporizers) or Mods allowed. The latter are allowed in on-site camping.
So, what does this mean? As ever with rules laid down by major events, it’s difficult to be 100% sure how they’ll be enforced. All staff will be fully briefed, but they may interpret the rules slightly differently. So if your mid-sized e-cig seems a little on the large side, it may be best to leave it at home as the staff member you’re dealing with could deem it too big. Exercising caution is always the best approach in such situations.
Gladly, blu® e-cigs can be of assistance. Our disposables, which are available in Classic Tobacco, Cherry Crush, and Magnificent Menthol flavors, fit Coachella’s requirement for “single use mini’s”. These are compact e-cigarettes that can be carried around very easily and used once before being tossed in the trash. They have no moving parts, so there’s nothing to take apart and no risk of any of those parts getting lost. You just take it out of the box, vape, and dispose of it when you’re done. Simple!
When attending Coachella, or any kind of festival or event, you want your experience to be as stress-free as possible. After all, nobody wants to be worrying about vaping rules when they could be enjoying themselves instead. If you stick to Coachella’s regulations, you should have no problems, and if there are any uncertainties in your mind, always be sure to ask a member of staff, either before the event or during it.
