Vapes on a Plane

Vapes on a Plane

One of the awesome things about blu eCigs® is that you can savor them without bothering anyone around you, since electronic cigarettes don’t produce smoke, ash or a nasty smell. There are plenty of places to vape — in some buildings, offices and public spaces.

But can you vape on a plane?

The short answer: It depends. The Department of Transportation (DOT) hasn’t officially banned passengers from using e-cigs while in flight, but cabin air quality regulations come into play. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) hasn’t made an official ruling, either. The FAA lets each carrier determine whether to allow in-flight vaping. “Business Insider” reports that at this time, no major U.S. airline allows the use of e-cigarettes onboard. Airlines that prohibit in-flight use of e-cigs include: American Airlines, Delta, JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, and United.

Other airlines might permit in-air use of e-cigs. Because each company makes its own policy, you might be able to vape on your next flight. Just ask your airline what its policy is. Don’t be uncool… never use an electronic cigarette without checking with the flight attendant to make sure it’s allowed.

Carry-On Policy
In October 2015, the DOT made a rule that prohibits passengers (and crewmembers, for that matter) from stowing battery-powered portable electronic smoking devices in checked baggage. You also are no longer allowed to charge e-cigs and e-cig batteries when aboard an aircraft. So just remember when you travel now: along with your 3.4-ounce liquids, make sure to carry-on your blu!

E-Cig Flight Courtesy
If you can use an e-cig in-flight, why not talk to your fellow passengers before you start vaping your blu? That way, they’ll know what it is and how it works. You won’t make them nervous — and you’re being polite.

Actually, talking to people around you whenever you use blu e-cigs is a great idea — especially when you’re in areas where e-cig use is permitted but traditional cigarette smoking is prohibited. Some people may not know the difference between traditional cigarettes and e-cigarettes. Some may also not understand how an e-cig works and think that you’re smoking a tobacco cigarette. Save yourself some hassle, and be upfront about what’s going on. And who knows? You may just make new friends who love blu, too.
