Vaping Indoors: Everything You Need To Know

Categories: Vaping Tips

Vaping has the power to open up a whole new world to those who decide to make this change, with a whole world of flavors, devices and nicotine strengths to choose from. But one common question after you start vaping is whether you’ll be able to use your e-cigarette indoors.

The answer is yes and no. While there are places that will let you use your e-cigs inside, there are also others that won’t let you use them. When e-cigarettes first arrived in the U.S. there weren’t any rules on where you could use them, and this meant that the early adopters were able to vape to their heart’s content wherever they chose.

However, a lot of businesses have since introduced their own rules on vaping and many states now also have laws that apply to all businesses and public spaces. The laws are pretty varied, so they can be hard to keep track of. Fortunately, we have tons of information on the different places you can and can’t vape in our blog. The rule of thumb is to check with a member of staff before you start vaping when you’re heading somewhere new.

What Are The Advantages of Vaping Indoors?

One of the advantages of e-cigarettes is that the vapor they produce won’t leave a lingering smell on your clothes or furniture, and this means that you don’t have to worry about after-effects when using them in an enclosed space. The vapor produced by e-cigarettes evaporates after just a few seconds (we go into more detail on how this happens here), and so it won’t seep into its surroundings, leaving your clothes and home smelling fresh!

Something to remember if you’re vaping indoors is that if the room you’re vaping in is especially cold, the clouds of vape will be much larger and potentially condense on any windows or screens much faster. This shouldn’t cause any long-term issues, but it might mean you need to give them a quick clean after a lengthy vaping session. You should also be aware that e-cigarettes have been known to set off fire alarms in the past, so make sure to keep this in mind if you’re vaping somewhere with a sprinkler system! You can learn more about how e-cigarettes affect fire alarms right here.
